Old Biz
Newslett- The newsletter, titled Green Leaves, was a great success! It
not only
contains riveting and informative pieces by internationally renowned journalists
such as
Caroline Margolies, but is also aesthetically pleasing! Great job putting it all
together
Leefrances, and thank you to everyone who contributed material. We now have an
easy/fun way to spread the green word.

New Biz
Green Week- Speaking of the newsletter, all of the Green's upcoming
events have
been listed on its last page. In case you haven't yet managed to get ahold of a
copy, here
is the mostly confirmed GW schedule: Mon, Apr. 14- Alternative Menstruation Forum;
Tues, 15th- Flower Seedling Workshop; Weds, 16th- Vegan Baked good Giveaway; Thurs,
17th- Food not Bombs speaker; Fri, 18th- TBA; Sat, 19th- Neighborhood Cleanup; Sun,
20th- Vege/vegan Potluck. TImes/locations will be relayed to you next week, or,
again,
are available in the newsletter.

Donate $$$$$$- During this week's meeting, everyone voted to donate 50
big ones
to the Sanctuary for Independent Media in Troy. The Sanctuary will use the money for
renovations that have been imposed on them by the city.

Universal Health Care- The CG, inspired by a recent viewing/discussion of
the
movie Sicko, have decided to TAKE MATTERS INTO THEIR OWN LITTLE HANDS. We've
decided to begin with baby steps (lol), and so are currently pushing UAlbs to provide
free/at cost birth control to all students. If you aren't that into 'surprise
babies' and think
you'd like to help us out, you can join the facebook group here:
http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=14299416006 We are now filling out health
center surveys and suggesting they include contraceptives in the pharmacy money
alloted
to each student. GO here to fill out a survey:
http://www.albany.edu/health_center/Surveys/index.htm

May Day- The first of May is traditionally a day to protest.....things.
The CG will be
having a Choose Your Own Protest event on this date. More info to come.

Announcements:

X Factors- According to the UAlbany website, and brought to our attention
by Lynne,
a climate change workshop will be held this weekend, April 4-6. Here is the
description:
"An international symposium produced by the Institute on Critical Climate Change IC3)
featuring Bernard Stiegler of the Pompidieu Center, Paris; Claire Colebrook,
University at
Edinburgh; Sam Weber, Northwestern Univ.; and Haun Saussy, Yale Univ. Speakers and
panelists will explore the impact of climate change on writing systems, cultural
transmission, and memory." See the Ualbany website and click on Upcoming Events for
more details.

Ok, and that's it for now. See you all next weekkkk!>.>!>!Lp!
